I live in Oklahoma and have so most of my life. We were bombarded with record snowfall earlier this week when we had a blizzard that affected most of the state. Today another storm has hit bringing an additional 4-6 inches. While some states may be equipped to more handle a situation like this, Oklahoma is not, thus many school throughout the state have been closed since Monday
An article in this week's Tulsa World highlighted several Tulsa area private schools who use what they call "cyber days" instead of the typically "snow days" when bad weather occurs. On these days, teachers email students assignments early in the morning and students complete and return those assignments when they return to school. If they have questions about a particular assignment, then they can email questions to their teachers throughout the day. There are parts of me that really likes the idea and then there is part of me that have some significant questions with this concept.
What do you think about the concept of "cyber days"? What positives and/or negatives can you see with this? How does your district/area handle inclement weather?

I myself have thought of this. We would need to provide students with computers and internet service. My concerns would be that students would ruin the computers at their home.
An fascinating discussion is worth comment. I do believe which you need to write read a lot more about this subject, it will not be considered a taboo topic but typically everybody is too couple of to communicate in on such topics. To yet another. Cheers 594699
