As I have mentioned before, I believe that it is imperative that school administrators review their student handbook each year. An outdated handbook is an ineffective handbook. I believe there are ten policies that every student handbook should have. Some of these policies are traditional policies that most school already have in place, but some are fresher and come from issues that I have had to deal with as a principal. With that said, every school has its own unique set of needs and issues. A policy that works well for one district can be an absolute disaster for another. However, the 10 policies in the article can generate some fresh ideas that you may want to incorporate in your next student handbook update.
