Push Pin

By , About.com Guide

Definition:

A push pin is an informal method to help a teacher in areas that need improvement. A push pin can be as simple as an email, written notice, or short conference. A push pin is typically given to a teacher or group of teachers to improve something minor. An example would be a teacher who arrives at school five minutes late for three consecutive days. An administrator may send an email alerting the teacher that they are aware of this and asking them to please arrive on time. A push pin should be documented in case the teacher does not correct the behavior. In that case, the administrator would likely choose to move to a more serious Personal Development Plan.
